Understanding Upholstery Fabric

Before diving into the specifics, let's understand the key factors that influence the choice of upholstery fabric:

  1. Durability: The durability of upholstery fabric is paramount, especially for furniture that sees frequent use. Factors like the rub count / martindale and material composition determine the fabric's durability.

  2. Aesthetics: Upholstery fabric sets the tone for the room's decor. Consider the colour, pattern, and texture that align with your aesthetic preferences and existing decor.

  3. Comfort: Comfort is subjective and varies based on personal preferences. Factors such as fabric texture, breathability, and feel contribute to the overall comfort of the furniture.

  1. Linen: Our linen upholstery fabric exudes a timeless elegance and offers excellent breathability, making it ideal for warm climates as well as colder climates like here in the UK. It's durable due to its weight and high rub count, our luxury linen fabric is 260gsm. Our linen also adds a relaxed, natural vibe to your furniture.

  2. Velvet: Our velvet upholstery fabric adds a touch of luxury and sophistication to any piece of furniture. It's soft to the touch and offers a rich texture that elevates the overall aesthetic of the room. Susi Bellamy velvet is a polyester mix, this makes it extremely hard wearing and practical and requires very little maintenance. Our velvet fabric has a rub count / martindale of 60,000 making it the perfect option for heavily used furniture like sofas and chairs.
